Gift inscription on ffep. Dust jacket shows light edge wear; shallow chipping at spine ends; one inch closed tear to top edge of front panel near spine; spots of ink on front flap offset from inscription. DJ in archival sleeve. Color frontispiece. 188 plus [4] pp. ads. 7 x 5 inches. Volume 16 in Ward Lock's uniform Sovereign Series (the number 16 appears at the foot of the dust jacket spine). The lively adventures of cousin air-pilots, Alec and Denis Swayne, who along with Professor Breston Marks, counter the enemy's attempt to steal a secret formula. John Francis Cyril Westerman (1901-1991) was an English author of boys' literature.
