Volume 5 only (January, 1899- July, 1899). The binding measures 14 1/2 inches tall by almost 10 1/2 inches wide. Hardcover bound in full green cloth with cover titles in gilt and with beveled edges. The binding is worn, and there is some soiling along the fore edge of the front cover. Rear cover has some rubbing, and the front inner hinge is broken with the muslin explosed. Front flyleaf and title page are nearly detached. Outside edges of the text block are foxed. The bulk of the text block is sound and is clean within. Illustrated throughout with photos of gardens, English manor houses, dogs, hunting, Lords and Ladies, etc. Three page Index at the front. Inscribed on the title page by the original owner, "Dr. G. C. Lippincott, U.S.N. / Salem, N. Jersey." George C. Lippincott (1850-1951) was a doctor in the U.S. Navy in the 1870s-1880s before he opened his office in Salem.
