Paris: Rapilly, 1828. Hardcover. Very Good +. Title page continued: "et en Général de Tous les Citoyens, l'Économie des Sociétés." 5 volumes: 1 leaf with an engraved figure; 20 cm. Contemporary half calf with unusual yellow, red, and brown marbled paper over boards. Gilt-tooled spine title: Say--Cours d'Économie Politique. Gilt-tooled spine decoration. All page edges speckled. On verso of each half title is an advertisement for other works by Jean-Baptiste Say available from Ponthieu et Cie., Paris, and Ponthieu, Michelsen et Cie., Leipzig. Volumes 4 and 5 are dated 1829. Each volume has an index. This set contains the first five volumes, published in 1828 and 1829. In Very Good+ Condition: slight loss of leather at tail of vol. 1 and head of vol. 3; front board of vol. 1 scraped, with slight loss of leather at upper edge; lower edge of vol. 2 front board rubbed with slight separation of leather at lower edge of front joint; corners slightly bumped; upper corner of vols 1-3 rubbed through; occasional foxing; otherwise pages are clean and tight. A solid and very attractive set.
