About This Item

London: Richard Bentley, 1857. First edition. Cloth. Very Good. 7.5" by 5". None. The first edition of this charming romance story from Charles Reade. In the scarce publishers' lithographed front cover. First edition. This works title is in reference to the famous quotation, taken from the line spoken by Lysander to Hermia in William Shakespeare's 'A Midsummer Nights Dream'. Written by Charles Reade, a British dramatist and novelist. In the original quarter cloth binding with pictorial paper covered boards. Externally, smart with rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Minor loss to the corners of the boards. Fading to the spine. The odd mark to the board. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean. Very Good
