The Courtship of Miles Standish by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow - 1920

This is a beautifully illustrated antique copy of "The Courtship of Miles Standish" by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. 1920 1st edition thus; Houghton Mifflin Company; New York. This edition features eight wonderful full-page plates, illustrated end papers in color, and black & white illustrations at the beginning of the chapters by N.C. WYETH. There is an Introduction by Henry's son, Ernest W. Longfellow. "Tercentenary Edition" - celebrating the 300th anniversary of Miles Standish and the Pilgrims sailing on the Mayflower.

Condition:
There is some scuffing/scratching to the front cover illustration near the top-left and -right corners, and near the bottom-left and -right corners. Light soiling to the covers and spine. Sharp cover corners. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. Both covers are firmly attached. Tiny cloth tears at the top and bottom edges of the spine. Nice interior - the pages are mostly clean with only some light finger smudging at the outer margin of page 132, a dark 1" x 1" tanned area at the upper-inner corner of pages 84 & 85 from a slip of paper left between them, a 1/4" tear at the outer edge of the title page and at the outer edge of the illustration after page 64, and a couple very light finger smudges at the bottom-right corner of page 3. Overall the book is in Very Good- condition.
