On offprint of Elmer Kelton's contribution -The Cowboy Keltons - is laid in. Inscribed on the frontispiece by Tom Ryan; inscribed also by dedicatee. J. Evetts Haley on the dedication page; and inscribed by the editor, Evetts Haley, Jr. on the first page of the Introduction which he wrote. All inscriptions are to Melba Kelton Younce, Elmer Kelton's first cousin, and the Haley inscriptions are dated 12/15/92, the publication date. Twenty-eight sketches of cowboys who had an impact on the Texas cattle industry, with drawings by multiple artists. Includes map endpapers, end section on brands and the ranches that used them, and an index; 287 pages.
