About This Item
This is a handsome, antique copy of "CRANFORD" by Mrs. Elizabeth Gaskell. 1914; Macmillan and Co.; London. With illustrations throughout by Hugh Thomson. This copy has been beautifully custom-bound by ZAEHNSDORF in full leather with seven raised bands and gilt decorations on the spine, marbled end papers, gilt page edges on all sides of the text block, gilt decorations along the outer edges of the inside covers, and a gilt border on the front and back covers.
Condition:
Clean covers and spine. There are a couple tiny chips to the leather at the top and bottom edges of the spine. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. Both covers are firmly attached. Nice interior - the pages are lightly age-toned and clean with no notable issues found. The book has been beautifully re-bound by Zaehnsdorf. Bright gilt page edges on all sides of the text block. Overall the book is in Very Good+ condition.
