In the 60s, he co-founded Black Arts West Theater in San Francisco and in Harlem at the Lafayette Theater where he was an associate editor of Black Theatre magazine. He toured the country with his play, and videodrama, One Day in the Life to help people with addiction and recovery. These incisive essays represent black literary arts and history with a revolutionary voice. Introduction by Suzzette Celeste and Foreword by James W. Sweeney.
