The text is illustrated in blue coloured drawings by Stephen Freeburg; the text is written in a blue and red coloured ink. The end pages are a light blue and white stripe. 1/4 red coloured cloth covered backstrip with gilt coloured titles. 3/4 cream-coloured boards. Photographic dustwrapper with red and gilt coloured titles to the front panel and backstrip. Colour photograph of the author and her husband to the rear panel. In this book the author, a top design professional, went from being the person telling the homeowner what would or may work into a client with the purchase of a Connecticut cottage. This book is a journey, personal, but, also relateable on what constitutes a home, how we live and what are our personal aesthetics. Softening and rubbing of the backstrip edges with rubbing of the book corners and a little to the panels. Age toning and scattered fox into the text block edge, foxing to the end pages, with age toning and a little foxing to the pages. Original bookseller's sticker to the lower right-hand corner of the free front end page; and original owner's rubberstamp to the top edge of the same page. Creasing of the dustwrapper edge some chipping of the dustwrapper corners and backstrip corners.
