About This Item

London: Pelham Richardson, 1839. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good. Publisher's original blind stamped dark green cloth-bound hardcover; neatly rebacked with a matching gilt lettered spine; firm, square and tight, just rubbed with slightly worn extremities. Contents sound and clean with the endpaper showing a presentation bookplate from Joseph Hume, the title-page also showing Joseph Hume's signature. In addition, a few Guildhall Library stamps and vestiges. Thus this book seems to be a copy Joseph Hume donated to the London Guildhall Library then later withdrawn. Size: 8vo (230mm x 150mm). Collation: pp. x, 278. Very scarce.
