Original cloth, modest wear at corners, wear cracking and a bit of loss to cloth at spine ends, inner joints weak and front endpaper detached and worn but present, rear joint and inner hinge cracked. Slight browning, contemporary gift inscription to title, otherwise clean internally. Housed in a custom morocco backed slipcase with chemise. 287pp with a 24 page publisher's catalog at rear. The scarce first edition of Hudson's classic Utopian novel, published a year before Bellamy's Looking Backward and one of the lasting additions to turn of the century utopian/dystopian literature.
