Paris: Calman Lévy, 1883. Octavo. Blue cloth-backed marbled boards with dark red title label to spine gilt, original wrappers bound in, upper with titling within decorative border printed in sepia, lower with publisher's advertisements. 1f. (half-title), 1f. (title), 249 pp. + 1f. (index). With several illustrative plates, one folding. Binding slightly worn, rubbed, and bumped, endpapers browned, small engraved bookplate to front pastedown. Minor uniform browning, slightly heavier to edges; some signatures separating. Interesting observations by a librarian at the Paris Opéra archives, best-known for his Bibliothèque musicale du théatre de l'Opéra listing works performed at the Opéra from its origin in 1669 to 1876.
