Author was nineteen when he made the night jump into Normandy with the 506th Parachute Regiment. Currahee! is his story of the five days and nights of fighting that raged behind the beaches - a young soldier's first exposure to the overwhelming shock of combat, and the only first hand narrative of D-Day by a paratrooper that we are ever likely to have. 189 pages. Some rubbing on top & bottom & edges of spine and some places on outside edges. Spine has a crease down it. Multiple creases on the front and rear cover down the length of the book next to spine edge. A 1" crease on front cover across the top right corner. Rear cover has a 3" crease across the bottom left corner. Prev. bookstore stamp on Ffep and 2nd page. Prev. owners initals on FFep. 'R' in ink on front cover..
