Hardcover -- black cloth backed, dark red cloth over covers, bright text/illustration to front cover and spine, gentle wear to extremities, lower edge of front cover had superficial contact with moisture, tightly bound; some worming to front text margin, <1/2 inch, affecting 16 leaves (printed text not affected; o/w internally clean and unmarked. A few leaves remain uncut. No dust jacket if issued. xvi [1] 264 [1], frontispiece, plus 10 photographic plates (photogravures?) with paper guards; TWO PLATES REMOVED (William Vernon Booth, Jr. & Carleton Burr), BUT I have been able to locate these plates and I have printed them out and placed them in the book where they belong.
