239 pages with 2 plates, diagrams and index. Small octavo (7 1/2 x 5 1/4") issued in red cloth with gilt lettering to spine and cover. From the library of Edgar Halladay. A C White's Christmas series(Betts: 33-22) 1st edition.

Contains a biographical sketch of Densmore, by Sim, a 62 page study of his problems by Hume (including 80 examples), 54 further examples of his work (chiefly 3 movers, 4 movers and self mates), an 85 problems by various composers entered in the memorial Tourney. Solutions appear on pages 223-235. Includes an index of composers.

From the library of Edgar Holladay with his notes through out and new problem tipped on to page 124 with his solution. Holladay was a well known composer especially in the field of helpmates, International Master in composing and an International Judge.

Condition: Previous owner's name on front paste down in pencil (not Holladay's). Recased with original spine laid on, soiled, edge wear. About a very good copy issued without jacket. . First Edition. Original Cloth. About Very Good. Small Octavo.
