Bound with an Edition of James Hervey's much loved MEDITATIONS AND CONTEMPLATIONS, Containig Meditations among the Tombs - Reflections on a Flower Garden - A Descant on Creation - Contempations on the Night - The Starry Heavens - and a Winter Piece. Transposed into Blank Verse by George Cocking of Redruth, Cornwall. Dedicated by him to the Duke of Wellington.268 Pages + interesting 5 Page List of Subscribers (mostly Cornish). Contemporary Brown Full-Leather Binding with Gilt Decoration to spine. 8 3/4" Tall, 380g. Splits to leather down sides of spine and front hinge tender. A little scuffing to leather. "The Dance of Death" has very light foxing, Marginal on the plates (very little on the illustrations themselves) (see photos). Hervey's work in very good, clean condition.
