About This Item

Very Good to Near Fine book has light edge wear, touch of age yellowing along edges of boards, with a blue ballpoint gift inscription on the mostly blue front end page that is hard to see, in a Good dust jacket that is lightly rubbed, slightly soiled back panel, light yellowing of spine, wear at spine ends with closed tears and loss of color and small triangular chips. Edgar winner. A nice copy of a fragile production that is signed by Hillerman on the title page. Hillerman's second Navajo mystery features detective Joe Leaphorn involved in a Zuni crime. Complete number line to 1 bottom last page. This title won the 1974 Edgar Award for best mystery.

Synopsis

Dance Hall Of The Dead is the second of the Navajo Tribal Police series of crime fiction novels by Tony Hillerman. Centered around the character of police Lieutenant Joe Leaphorn, Dance Hall of the Dead is, like many of Hillerman's books, set on the Navajo Reservation in the Four Corners region of the American Southwest. Themes of the book include the Zuni religion and hostility between the Navajo and the Zuni.
