Ex-Library copy, with expected inserts and inscriptions. Black and white illustrated frontispiece. Slight cracking to hinges and gutters causing boards and binding to be loose. However, boards and pages throughout remain attached. Pages have light tanning and foxing throughout. Staining to some pages, text remains readable. Boards have moderate shelf-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Light tanning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends. Splits to spine ends causing cloth to be frayed. Wear marks overall.

Prize label on front pastedown dated 1912. Very Good without dust-jacket. Her first novel. Written in the interests of the total abstinence movement.

Pages are lightly tanned and thumbed at the edges, with light foxing. Binding has remained firm. Boards are a little rub worn with slight shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are a little bumped. Spine ends are a mildly crushed, with small splits and chips. Tanning to spine and edges. Boards are bowed. Book has a forward lean. Water marks to boards and spine.

Sunday School Union, 1111. Hardcover. Good. 272 pages. No dust jacket. Red pictorial cloth. Pages and binding are presentable with no major defects. Minor issues present such as mild cracking, inscriptions, inserts, light foxing, tanning and thumb marking. Overall a good condition item. Boards have mild shelf wear with light rubbing and corner bumping. Some light marking and tanning.

Mild cracking to gutters, however binding remains firm. Small tear to title page. Previous owner's inscription to front endpaper. Boards have light edgewear with corner crushing and notable marking to boards. Notable tanning to board edges and spine, which has mild crushing to ends. Small droplet to rear board. Small tear to spine. Book has forward lean.

London: Ward, Lock & Co, Limited, 1111. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. Not dated - believed to around mid 1930s. In very good bright red cloth boards, with blind stamped ruled lines and decoration to front with gilt titles and gilt decoration and decoration to back strip. The covers are straight, clean and very tight. Unmarked black end papers. Foxed and tanned cut edges. The text block is tightly bound, square and with light foxing throughout. Brief dedication facing half title page. Black and white frontispiece with tissue guard and other plates in the text. Very good minus condition. No jacket.

Glasgow: Scottish Temperance Leaque, 1882. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. 12mo - over 6¾ - 7¾" tall. In dark green cloth, stamped black floral decoration, titles gilt on front and spine, corners bumped and spine rubbed. Title page is slightly tanned and has pencil marks. Yellow rear endpapers. Tanning to adverts at the end but otherwise text is clean and bright. No dustjacket.
