About This Item

Good. Hardcover IN LITHUANIAN by Kazys Boruta, a Lithuanian author, poet and political activist. This book with green buckram cloth covering is full of folk symbolization, with illustrations by the Lithuanian artist A. Surgailiene. Front of the DJ has a colorful representation of a wood block print by Surgailiene. These whimsical woodblock prints are featured throughout. The title of book translates to "The Sky is Falling." Design in black on front board, author name in black on spine. Boards have bent and dented corner tips. Spine cocks to left. Textblock has darkened, and it appears that very light, faint, foxing has begun on the outside of the textblock and on pages within. The orange pastedowns and endpapers retain bright orange hue, with a small amount of green ink on the inside flaps transferring to the paper. Small dark stain at bottom of title page. Writing on the half title page. The dust jacket is very tattered, w/ a large half-moon shaped tear from top edge of DJ. All the corners and edges of the DJ are rubbed, chipped and torn, and as such, we've placed a clear archival jacket over the original DJ to prevent any more damage. 300 pages.
