ALSO, the book stays firmly closed when stood on its spine. A truly remarkable copy. A second part by the journalist Thomas W. Knox on "Life in the Great Metrololis". A third by the chief of NY detectives, Thomas Byrnes, "Criminal Life and Detective Experiences in the Great Metropolis". Book's spine & tp say 250 illustrations but the list of illustrations numbers 251. There are 15 full page illustrations. Campbell, Knox & Byrnes have tissue guarded full page engraved portraits preceding their parts. .
