Frontispiece plus three plates extra to the pagination each printed on one side on a darker paper (opposite title and pages 12, 35, and 106). 6 1/4 x 4 1/4 inches. Publisher's salmon/brown boards with gilt spine decorations. Occasional foxing, light wear to the extremities. Apparently complete. Cloth. Estimated publication dates based on the American Antiquarian Society copy (theirs in purple cloth and with 6 plates). Apparently part of a Fairy Tale series, with "Vol II" printed at the end of the contents page.

Includes the tales "The Darning Needle," "The Fir-tree," "The Swineherd," "Elder-Tree Mother," "Five Out of One Shell," "The Snow Queen," and "Roland.
