From the Author's Edition, limited to 1000 numbered copies, but with no individual volume number or listing of total volumes in the edition. Purchased by us from science writer and philosopher Martin Gardner, and with his pencil underlining and marginalia (but not his owner's name). No date, but believed c.1900.
