First Edition, First Printing of this World War II memoir by a British artists who as a soldier had the misfortune to be a long-term prisoner of the Japanese Imperial Army. Rawlings made numerous paintings illustrating the brutalities of the prisoners -- many presented in this book with his detailed recollections of his experiences.
