About This Item

George Routledge and Sons. London. 1881. FIRST EDITION, 1st issue. 4to (9.9 x 8.3 inches). Fully illustrated throughout with full colour illustrations, some in and around the text. The printing by Edmund Evans, the master of British colour printed books of the late nineteenth century. A very good copy in the publishers light green glazed boards with brown and yellow borders housing title panel and four sunflowers in the corners. Green cloth spine. Light green endpapers. Some rubbing to the corners and edges but still overall a very good copy of this charming title. -- Schuster & Engen 66.1a.
