Hardcover, brown cloth. 89 pp. Very Good. Light scratching and shelfwear to the covers; spine and gilt titles there faded; clean contents; sound binding. About half of the poems are written in southern African-American vernacular. The author's aim of the book, as stated in the dedication, is to 'create a greater tolerance for, and comprehension of, this simple, kindly, but much misunderstood Black Folk.' The author, of course, was a white woman. OCLC locates 22 copies.
