About This Item
The World at Work – A Day in a Shipyard by Arthur O. Cooke (Humphrey Milford at the Oxford University Press, reprint 1924).
A volume in 'The World at Work' series produced for the younger reader. This title originally published 1911 by Henry Frowde at Hodder and Stoughton and based on the author's visit to the Harland and Wolff shipyards in Belfast whilst the ships Olympic and Titanic were under construction.
Hardback – decorated paper over boards, title to spine, title and onlay plate to front board, pictorial endpapers. 87pp with b/w illustrations in the text, plus plates in b/w and colour. 7 x 4.5 inches approx. (175mm x 117mm).
Covers a touch rubbed and worn to extremities; boards a little bowed. A previous owner's name in ink to front paste-down; some corner creasing to pages; some staining to pages 32-33; pages edges spotted and dusty with some encroachment into page margins.
Overall, showing light wear but otherwise a nice copy – very attractive.
*International shipping rates are estimated and may incur an extra charge prior to order fulfilment. Books are despatched via Royal Mail International Tracked/Signed where available; please enquire for an accurate shipping quote to your country.*
