1952 Scribners first edition thus, featuring the black and pink version of the dust jacket. First thus points include $6.00 price on DJ flap, 1952 date on title page, and Scribners colophon on copyright page.
Condition of the book is Very Good. The binding is straight and sound. Inside pages are complete and unmarked.
Condition of the dust jacket is Good. The DJ is complete, not price clipped. It shows moderate wear, including a closed tear on the front panel, and chips at the top and base of the spine. That said, it displays well in a new mylar cover.

Synopsis
Death in the Afternoon is a non-fiction book by Ernest Hemingway about the ceremony and traditions of Spanish bullfighting. It was originally published in 1932. The book provides a look at the history and magnificence of bullfighting, while also being a deeper contemplation on the nature of fear and courage. Any discussion concerning bullfighting would be incomplete without some mention of the controversy surrounding it. -
