About This Item

Book of the Month with the Club Notes and has a clean Slipcase. The dustjacket is still fragile and easily damaged like chipping and wear along the edges. And always remember never pull the book out by its spine, shake it out slightly till you can grab it securely by its body. The book has no writing and is unread tightness. The slipcase will fit the 1st edition but is very tight even without the dustjacket. This is the only copy I've ever seen with the slipcase and the notes and was thinking to use it on a 1st edition. But this issue is nice as is where is. Makes a nice cheap copy of the Pulitzer Prize winner till you can afford a $500 1st of same condition. Did I mention it has a slipcase?

Synopsis

A Death in the Family is an autobiographical novel by author James Agee, set in Knoxville, Tennessee. He began writing it in 1948, but it was not quite complete when he died in 1955. It was edited and released posthumously in 1957 by editor David McDowell. Agee's widow and children were left with little money after Agee's death and McDowell wanted to help them by publishing the work. Agee won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1958 for the novel.

About Pulitzer Prize Books.com

I am a private collector, mainly Pulitzer Prize winners, but I inherited 1000's of hardcovers and looking to sell them off. I will be relocating in the near future, and need to lighten the load.
