Octavo (19.25cm); dark brown cloth, titled in gilt on spine and front cover; orange topstain; dustjacket; [xiv],304,[2]pp. Subtle offsetting to endpapers, topstain a bit dulled, with some occasional rubbing to the gilt titles; Near Fine. Dustjacket is unclipped (priced $2.50), gently spine-sunned and lightly edgeworn, with a few tiny tears and attendant creases, light dustiness, and a few faint stains at base of spine; Very Good+. The author's first collection of short fiction, collecting 14 stories written between 1932-35. JOHNSTON A4.1.a1.

Synopsis
