Paris: J. Vrin. Good with no dust jacket. 1949. First Edition. Softcover. 107, [iv] pp. Slim octavo. Original grey wraps are sunned and age darkened. Corners a bit curled with some minor chipping at bottom from corner, top of front wrap just starting to separate from spine. Small piece of back top corner gone. Interior paper is browned but otherwise clean and unmarked. The first edition of Levinas' work on existence using his work on Husserl and Heidegger (whom he would later reject) . ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 107 pages .
