[Texas Revolution] [President Miguel Barragán.] Decree on Funding the War Provoked by the Texas Settlers. [Mexico]: [No publication information.] January 9, 1836. Broadside on laid paper with watermark. 30 cm. At head of title: Secretaria de Hacienda. Seccion 1.a. Signed in type: Antonio Vallejo, [Secretary of the Treasury.] Near fine.

OCLC show one holding for this Decree (Baylor). "Decree authorizing the government to dispose of half of the income of the departments while the war brought on by the Texas colonists continues."— See, Streeter, Texas 871. Streeter cites the first separate publication of the decree from January 17, 1836 in Sonora. A decree from the early stages of the conflict with the "Texan Rebels." The document was issued at the moment that the Mexican government realized that the situation was serious, as shown by this exceptional authorization to use half of the income of the departments to sustain the war.
