Listeners to public radio and viewer of public television in the 1960s and 1970s (and luk concert-goers in New YOrk CIty) enjoyed the concerts of this mythical son of Johann Sebastian Bach, featuring vastly amusing commetary and compositions by Professor Peter Schickele. In addition to his famous compositions, such as "Concerto for Harn and Hardhart" and the opera "The ABduction of Figaro," Professor Schikele also invented the dill piccolo (for playing sour notes), the trombook, the pastaphone, and other usnual instruments. The supposed "definitieve biography" carries this brand of humor to the printed page.
