11.25 x 7.5" brown string-bound photo album with "Photographs" in a gold oval and a fireplace embossed on the front cover. The inside front cover reads: "Property of Carlton J. Higginbotham, Willoughby, Ohio." There's also a note taped to the inside cover about Carl's mother, a governess, and his father, a landscaper and gardener, both of whom worked at Sherwick (a large estate), where they met and eloped. Carl notes that their families got along well, but his father's mother hated Carl's mother for taking her son away while he was supporting the family. Contains around 200 black and white photos from the 1920s to 1930s which largely show Carl's friends and family, early airplanes, and family trips to other parts of Ohio, Tennessee, Kentucky, and lovely photos of the Niagara Falls. Photographs measure between 1.5 x 1.5" and 7 x 5" and are held to the pages with corner tabs and glue, as well as accompanied by fun annotations. Interesting photos include damaged houses after the Lorain cyclone blew through town, a pic of a biplane with the captions "In which I took my first ride," a woman photographer with her camera, etc. The album is complete and in overall good condition.
