About This Item
London: Studio Vista, 1978. Oversize Hardback. Good/Very Good. Book is in excellent condition except for what appears to be a punch tool mark starting on page 145 and impacted to page 159, cutting a 1/4"" x 1/2"" rectangle; weird. Book is otherwise very clean with green cloth boards, gilt print at spine, decorative endpapers. Binding is solid and square, covers have sharp corners with a bit of wear, exterior shows no other blemishes, text/interior is clean and free of marking of any kind. Dust jacket shows light signs of shelf wear, some chipping at the edges with a few very small tears, a scratch mark on the back. Book is lavishly illustrated with large b&w & color prints and photos throughout. Historical presentation of set and costume design as well as lots of very impressive designs of the ""modern age."" Contents include: Renaissance spectacle, From court to theatre, Rococo, neoclassical, romantic, The Diaghilev era, After Diaghilev, In Russia, Design for today, Traditional design, French style, Modern ballet and modern dance.
