Considerant was a follower of Fourier, and an original proponent of utopian socialism. Included as the frontispiece to volume I of Destinee Sociale (Social Destiny) is the image from Fourier’s Le Nouveau Monde Industriel. This three-volume work is Considerant’s first major treatise on utopian socialism and the social conception of the phalanstery. Destinee Sociale is considered the most important work of Fourierism.

CONDITION: Very good to near fine in original printed wrappers. Moderate foxing to first few leaves of volume 1. Pages clean, untrimmed. Volume II mostly unopened. An exceptional copy all in original, as-printed condition.
