Spine tanned, edges worn, some rubbing, spine ends worn with light chipping; bookplate/label (fancy "V" with crown), smaller plain "U" label inside front cover, binder's ticket inside rear, text tanned but clean. xxxii, 464 pages; 1 plate, index, 'glossarial index', notes; 19 pages Camden Society report. Short account of funeral customs of the period, and the Diary, of interest as a common man's first-person account of tumultuous times in Tudor London; used extensively by Strype in his history, and with Elizabethan material not heretofore published. "The Diarist takes a lively interest in the pageantry and holiday-making of the City...". Period orthography may be a bit difficult for modern readers.. First Edition. Cloth. Good/No Jacket. 7" by 9".
