About This Item
[New York]: The Letter Edged In Black Press Inc., 1968. Fourth in Cage's impressionistic Diary series, entries XCI through CXVIII, written while he was active at the University of Illinois in Champaign; this was included in the fourth of William Copley's S.M.S. portfolio series of which reportedly fewer than 2000 were assembled. Stapled pamphlet, textured white paper printed in a variety of colors and typefaces (chosen, naturally, by chance); enclosed in a printed mylar folder. The booklet is clean and near fine; the front of the mylar folder is a little curled and its secondary flap has a long crack/tear in its crease; it also shows minor wear with a few letters chipped. Text clean, 20 pages. "XCIV. When I entered the house, I noticed some very interesting music was being played. After a drink or two, I asked my hostess what it was.. She said, "You can't be serious?". First Edition. Pamphlet. Very Good/Good. 5¼" by 7½".
