Cloth, gilt cover titles, 8vo,. xvii, 303 pp. Covers general and specialized dictionaries including, for example, etymological dictionaries, dictionaries of synonyms and antonyms, of slang and dialects, dictionaries relationg to special periods, and bi-lingual dictionaries. An appendix covers some polyglot and technical dictionaries. This enlarged second edition is quite difficult to find and includes substantial new material in comparison with the 1955 first edition, including entirely new chapters on English-language dictionaries, the Celtic languages, and comparative philology. Very Good.
