W. H. Allen & Co, 1885. First Edition. Hardcover. Acceptable. Ex-library, with ink or white out blocking out library markings at spine, at the top and fore-edge of the textblock, and the bottom of the title page. Rebound, with newer spine and endsheets; original black cloth with spine titling in gilt and decoration tooled in blind, rebound/reinforced with a new green cloth spine which retains the original black cloth spine backing over the top. Scuffing, rubbing, edgewear, with moderate bumping to corners and spine ends, and fraying to fore-edge corners and bottom edges. The rebound spine is solid and firm. Stained to margins of first few pages, rust stains to frontis and title page consistent with prolonged contact to a paper clip, and very occasional incidence of highlighting or marginal notation in the text. First edition. Year: 1885
