Clifton NJ; London: Augustus M. Kelley; Macmillan, 1972. Hardcover. Matched book design despite different publishers. Respectively xxv, 388, xxi, 454, xix, 236, xix, 236p., each volume cased into 9.5x6 inch red cloth boards gilt and enclosed in the dust jacket. Several in the run show slight loss of sizing along upper joints, dj of v.I has a short marginal tear and an unremoveable small price sticker, and the dj of v.4 is a bit rumpled (but looks okay). Crisp square copies, clean and unmarked within. The run comprises some 15 volumes, of which we can supply only the first four. Per dj flap text: "The Dictionary has been planned as a many-volumed project, with each volume organised on a self-contained basis... The time-span covers the the period of modern industrialism, from the later decades of the eighteenth century to the present..
