And while he is much better remembered for his philosophical and political works, he wrote what became one of the best music dictionaries of the 18th-century. "The Complete Dictionary of Music" is an alphabetical lexicon of all aspects of music. It features full musical examples as well as in-text charts and descriptions. This 1768 edition was published in Paris by Duchesne.
