Menz, Buchhändler, Nro. 53, Nord Dritte Strasse, n.d., 1849. 8vo, pp. 972, 320; early 20th-century full limp black morocco, double gilt border on covers, gilt-paneled spine in 6 compartments, gilt-lettered direct in 1, a.e.g.; lightly rubbed; very good. In a cloth slipcase with one split at the top joint. N.T. title page dated 1849. Bookplate of James Mead, Curator Emeritus of Marine Mammals at the Smithsonian. With an inscription on the flyleaf: "To Andreas from Mamma. March 23, 10/56. Presented to her son in law Andreas Hartel by Mrs. Samuel R. Warrington 'The best of Mothers of her sons and daughters'." Samuel R. Warrington (1824-1887) was a Philadelphia silversmith and watchmaker. Hartel married Warrington's daughter Elizabeth. OCLC locates 3 copies only: University of Chicago, United Lutherian Seminary in Pennsylvania, and Lutherian Theologiacl Southern Seminary in South Carolina.
