RARE in the First Edition, and beautifully bound in half calf over marbled boards, 5 raised bands, gilt lettering and decorations at spine, matching marbled end pages. Near Fine, end pages a bit toned, slight scuffing to leather at spine ends and corners. Son of the renowned astronomer Arthur Auwers, while director of the Chemistry Department at Marburg Auwers taught two future Nobel Prize winners in chemistry : Karl Ziegler (1963) and Georg Wittig (1979).. First Edition. Half Calf Over Marbled Boards. Near Fine/No Jacket, As Issued. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
