About This Item
Nurnberg (Nuremberg), Germany: J. W. Spear & Sohne, 1925. 5 heavy cardbord leaves, including covers. Not dated; so 1925 is an estimate, but there is a gift inscription on the rear cover that is dated 5/12/32. The text is in German, with the front cover text in Suetterlin Script, which was discontinued prior to World War II. The title translated into English is "The Clock: A Picture Book to Learn and Play." Each page has an illustration and text showing children in daily activities at 8 hours indicated on clocks, from 8:00 am until 7:00 pm. The book is remarkably well-preserved: the movable hands on the clock on the front cover are intact; illustrations inside and on front cover remain vivid and bright; some rubbing along the edges; soiling on the rear cover.. First Edition. Hardcover. Collectible-Very Good/No Dust Jacket, as Issued. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Book.
