Paul Zsolnay, Berlin . Wien . Leipzig, 1928. First Edition. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Very Good Condition/Fair. The text is in German, so the description of the text is going to be somewhat shaky. Index and at the rear four pages of total contents, including chronology table. Navy blue coloured cloth covered boards with gilt decoration to the extreme edges of the front panel, with gilt inserts to the top and lower edge of the back strip and gilt either side of the back strip. Navy blue and gilt coloured titles to the back strip. Pale yellow coloured tint to the top text block edge. Dark red coloured cloth place marker – which has become quite frayed at the the edge and has lost some of its length. Plain text dust wrapper with red and black coloured titles to the front panel and back strip. H. G Wells' History of the World, in German. Softening of the back strip edges with rubbing of the book corners and lower book edges. Age toning and scattered foxing of the text block edges with age toning of the pages. Foxing to the first few and last few pages of the book with the occasional foxing spot further in the text. Chipping to the lower dust wrapper corners and back strip edge with chipping and pieces missing to the top edge – please see photograph. The back strip has become sunned and stained. The dust wrapper panels have become a little sunned and there are a few rub marks to the rear panel. Browning to the verso with some foxing spots along the fold over edges of the dust wrapper.
