Ngaio Marsh was one of the leading Queens of Crime during the Golden Age of Detective Fiction, alongside Agatha Christie, Margery Allingham, and Dorothy L. Sayers. In the original publisher's cloth binding, in the original price-clipped dust wrapper. Externally, smart. Very light bumping and fading to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. A couple of small marks to the boards. Light edge wear to the dust wrapper, with a small chip to the head of the front wrap, and neat tape repairs to the reverse, with a repair to a closed tear to the front wrap. Some scattered spots to the dust wrapper, including to the reverse. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Near Fine
Synopsis
Died in the Wool is a detective novel by Ngaio Marsh; it is the thirteenth novel to feature Roderick Alleyn, and was first published in 1945. The novel concerns the murder of a New Zealand parliamentarian on a remote sheep farm, said to be located near Mount Cook. Like the previous novel in the series the story takes place during World War II with Alleyn doing counterespionage work.
