Of the 5,000 men who took part almost 3,500 were killed or wounded due to a combination of over rigid planning, inadequate supporting firepower and sheer bad luck. 306 pages with 25 black and white photographs and 4 maps. Book in very good condition with minor foxing and light tanning. Dust jacket in good condition with some tears, chips and knocks (see photo).
