London: Argonaut, 1928. First Thus . Hardcover. Very Good. First printing, this limited edition of 975 copies, of which this is no. 564. Pp. cvi, 182, frontis port. with tissue guard, many plates, illustrations, one large folding map, appendices, index, ribbon page marker, 4to format, vellum spine with gilt titles, tan cloth boards with gilt decoration, fore-edges untrimmed. A Very Good copy with previous owner's signature and date (1929), small bookplate, few other numbers, few minor ink marks to contents. Modest sign of removal of label or pocket from rear free endpaper. Very light wear, firm binding, covers and contents very fresh oveall with minor wear to covers.
