Signed limited edition of The Discovery and Conquest of Mexico 1517-1521, published by the Limited Editions Club in 1942.. Quarto, 263pp. Publisher's full calf, title in gilt on red label affixed to spine, five raised bands. Top edge dyed, speckled edges. Covers clean with little wear, small mark to back cover. Solid text block, free of marks or notations. Two small holes to the lower corner of page 91. In the publisher's red slipcase, very good, with some shelf wear and minor cracking to top edge. From a limited edition of 1500 copies, this being number 592. Signed on the colophon by the printer, Rafael Loera y Chavez, the illustrator, Miguel Covarrubias, and the editor, Harry Block.
