A wonderful first printing of the first American edition [Viking (New York 1999)], signed by the 2003 Winner of the Nobel prize J M Coetzee directly on the title page. The book is in fine condition with no remainder marks, a tight and square binding, with no owner inscriptions or highlighting and no staining or marking. The dust jacket is in fine condition, not price-clipped ($23.95), with no creases, chips or tears but with shelf rubbing visible on the white jacket. It is now protected by an archival cover which is easily removable, with no tape or adhesive used. Please do not hesitate to contact us for further information.
Synopsis
Disgrace is a 1999 novel by South African-born author J. M. Coetzee, winner of the 2003 Nobel Prize in Literature; the book itself won the Booker Prize in 1999, the year in which it was published. A 2006 poll of "literary luminaries" by The Observer newspaper named it as the "greatest novel of the last 25 years" written in English outside the United States.
